Xiaomi has announced its own carApril 7, 2019
Apparently, the creation of own cars by electronic giants is a special trend. Such statements help to attract attention, but the Chinese can really go ahead and start producing their own product.
Xiaomi decided to use the name Redmi not only for phones. The press service solemnly announced the desire to release its own crossover or SUV under this name. And despite the fact that the electronics giant from the Middle Kingdom is not yet striving to enter the car segment, but is only collaborating with the automaker FAW, in the future a new division may appear.
The FAW Bestune Redmi crossover, based on the standard T77 model, will be released soon. Under the hood of the car will be installed 1.2-liter turbo engine with a capacity of up to 143 horsepower. Together with it, a six-speed manual or automatic transmission will be installed. Will there be available all-wheel drive is still unknown.
Most likely, the future novelty from the standard version will differ in minor design changes, new interior trimming, as well as deep integration with Xiaomi electronics and their services. There will also be support for voice assistant Xiao AI, with which you can control the windows, air conditioning and more.
The estimated cost of the SUV from Xiaomi will start from 89,800 yuan
