Wuling officially unveils new crossover Hongguang XJuly 25, 2020
The presentation of the car took place at the Chengdu Auto Show. The new cross may be the first model of the brand that can be exported.
At the Chengdu Auto Show, several manufacturers have already presented the expected new items. The Wuling brand also did not stand aside, which presented the Hongguang X crossover to the general public. The SAIC-GM-Wuling joint concern has already released many bestsellers, and some of them were sent outside China, albeit under the Chevrolet and MG brands. The Chengdu Motor Show may become a landmark for the Wuling brand.
Previously, inexpensive compact vans and vans were sold only in China, but now the company has introduced a crossover designed not only for the domestic market. At its booth, Wuling Hongguang X is presented only as a concept – the exhibition model does not have a chassis and does not have a power plant installed on it.
However, there is an opportunity to evaluate the appearance of the novelty. The car received a very brutal design – the body has a rectangular silhouette and looks very powerful. Additional floodlights are integrated on the roof for driving in very difficult conditions.
In the front, we note a radiator grille with large cells, as well as tapered headlights, which are successfully integrated into the design.
At the moment, there is nothing specific in the design of the car so that it cannot get into mass production. The presentation of the production car should take place in 2021. It is possible that the novelty will receive a front-wheel drive system on an uncontested basis.
