World’s first off-road Lamborghini Huracan announcedNovember 28, 2020
Atelier B is for Build has decided to transform the luxury Italian supercar into a hardcore SUV with toothy tires.
The new project of the B is for Build atelier was named Jumpacan. Tuners will transform the Huracan into an off-road superbuggy with 37-inch wheels and a new engine.
The project started in January this year almost by accident, after all, the smashed Huracan fell into the hands of the studio specialists. They decided to use the remains of the coupe to create a unique off-road buggy. The supercar’s chassis has been rebuilt and refined. Now the prototype is being prepared for high-speed trips on surfaces for which the factory Lamborghinis are not designed.
The Jumpacan has already been fitted with a special harness developed in collaboration with SEM Dirt. The ground clearance of the off-road Huracan is now 305 mm, largely thanks to the huge wheels.
Little is known about the powertrain, but the tuners have already decided that a gurgling American V8 will be located under the hood. Whether it will remain naturally aspirated or get twin turbocharging remains to be seen. The studio already has experience in creating supercharged engines, because for the SEMA auto show, B is for Build, in collaboration with designer Haizal Salim, built an eccentric Huracan with a supercharged V8 and a manual transmission.
The debut of the off-road Lamborghini has been postponed to March 3, 2021, where the Jumpacan will start the Mint 400 rally-raid and will have to cover about 650 kilometers in “combat” mode. The name Jumpacan is made up of the words Jump and the name of the donor model.
