The last vacancy in the championship has closed. Williams signed a contract with Nicholas Latifi, in the 2020 season, the 24-year-old Canadian will become George Russell’s partner.
Nicholas Latifi: “I am very glad that in 2020 I will become the main pilot of the team. This year I liked working with Williams, helping the team work with the car on the track and at the base. I look forward to continuing this work and the debut Australian Grand Prix. “

Everyone at Williams is impressed with his performance in Formula 2 and his work with the team. “Nicholas has become a respected member of our team and we look forward to his performance in a new role when we fight together to return to the middle group of teams.”
This year, Latifi performs in Formula 2, having won four victories, and for one stage before the end of the season takes second place in the individual competition. The champion of the series has already been determined – he became Nick de Vries, and the second place Latifi has yet to defend.
