Williams finally brought her new car to the testsFebruary 20, 2019
The team from Grou had serious problems working on a new FW42 car. So they could only bring him on Wednesday, February 20th.
In the first days of the pre-season tests F-1 on the track in Barcelona, there were only nine out of ten teams – Williams was absent due to the unavailability of the car. So far, there have been no official explanations on this issue, but today Claire Williams and Paddy Lowe will meet with journalists, which may reveal the reason for the delay.
Note that Renault was also late with the car, but, unlike the British team, it did not have to change plans and schedules. In this regard, the future technical director is questioned
As for the FW42, it was brought to the Spanish highway at four o’clock in the morning. The team has to do a lot of work on its preparation for the tests. The fit of the seats, by the way, the pilots have already passed. The message of the press service “Williams” says that before lunch the car will not be able to bring to the track. It is also unknown whether it will withdraw today at all.
Unknown and the name of the pilot, who first sit behind the wheel. Because of the changed schedule and the omission of two test days, the team had to exclude reservist Nicolas Latifi. It is assumed that the remaining two days will be divided between Kubica and Russell. More precisely one and a half days.
