Will the tuning Skoda Octavia RS be able to overtake the stock BMW 745Le Hybrid?July 25, 2020
Journalists orgasmic race between the luxurious Bavarian BMW 7 Series sedan in the hybrid version 754Le, as well as the tuned Skoda Octavia RS.
The luxurious BMW 7 Series, with its long wheelbase (especially in the latest G12 body at the moment), is essentially a limousine. Despite the fact that the car is a representative class, it is mainly designed to comfortably move rear passengers from one point to another, it can still show good results in a straight line race.
The journalists of the foreign edition of Autocar India decided to test the 7 Series in a hybrid version of the 754Le. The plug-in hybrid offers 394 hp. And yes, this is not the most powerful performance of the “seven”. But the power of this car should be more than enough to compete with the high-performance Skoda Octavia RS.
The Czech car has been tuned, now its power is equal to 400 hp.
However, the Octavia RS has one significant drawback compared to the luxury car from BMW – the car is equipped with front-wheel drive, while the “7” has an xDrive all-wheel drive system.
Under the bonnet of the BMW 745Le is a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder turbo engine that is powered by an electric motor. The 745Le develops a power of 389 hp and its torque is 600 Newton meters. And yes, the electric motor immediately offers maximum torque.
It is noteworthy that with such different technical characteristics, both cars finished at almost the same time.
