Why Bugatti do not plan to create your own crossover?January 24, 2019
Very few automakers did not succumb to the temptation not to add today’s popular SUVs and crossovers to their model lines. Just as the British McLaren has confirmed that it is not going to release its own crossover, the French company Bugatti also decided to abandon such a venture.
Stefan Winkelmann – the boss of the company Bugatti, told about this in an article that is on the official website of the company. Although it describes what Bugatti was able to achieve in 2018, and what the brand expects from 2019 when the brand celebrates its 110th anniversary, at the very end of the article Winkelmann briefly covers the topic of crossovers.
“Although the SUV segment cars are now in great demand and the time for the appearance of such a model seems appropriate, in the Bugatti model range there will be neither SUVs nor crossovers,” – says Stefan Winkelmann. He adds that such models will not be able to match the history of the brand.
Despite the fact that the CEO of Bugatti made it clear that the company will not have its SUV, this does not necessarily mean that the luxury brand will completely forget about this idea in the coming years. The same Stefan Winkelmann hinted that another model could soon be added, which will be very similar in spirit to the current Chiron hypercar.
If the guys from Bugatti ever decide to create a crossover, the 16C Galibier concept, presented a few years ago, could serve as the basis for the model.
Not so long ago, our publication wrote that the new hypercar Bugatti Divo is offered for $ 2 million.
