Who is faster than Honda Passport, Ford Edge or Nissan Murano?February 25, 2019
Yes, yes, we will talk about the race of crossovers. I do not know about you, but I, if I hear about drag racing – a race in a straight line at a time, always imagine some so powerful cars that, when trying to figure out who is faster, make a real speed show. But not at this time.
This is the current trend – crossovers and SUVs are now the fastest growing segment of the automotive market. And the competition in it is so intense that even cars that are not included in the premium and powerful sectors should be able to show their character on the road, confident and sometimes aggressive. And probably the best way to measure their potential is drag racing.
The guys from the YouTube channel Fast Lane Car decided to find out what the midsize crossovers are capable of in terms of fast driving.
Three cars participated in the competition – Japanese Honda Pilot and Nissan Murano, as well as the American Ford Edge. Looking ahead to say that some of the results surprised me greatly.
Nissan Murano is equipped with a 3.5-liter 260 hp V6 (325 Nm), which is coupled with a variator that drives all four wheels. Honda Pilot got all the same, but its power is equal to 280 hp (355 Nm). Power is transmitted to 4 wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission. Ford Edge has the smallest engine – only 2.0 liters, whose power is 245 hp (373 Nm). It is connected to the 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system.
Similar figures, however, one of the rivals is much slower than the others.
