After the debut of the Volkswagen Golf 8 and Skoda Octavia 4, fans of the VW Group are looking forward to seeing two new members of the MQB-based compact car series. So, soon the new Audi A3 and SEAT Leon will appear, and the first one is already undergoing severe winter tests in northern Sweden.

With the exception of steel wheels and an optional LED front panel, the chic sedan from Ingolstadt looks almost ready to drop camouflage and head off to the world premiere. The new Audi will receive an improved design, including new front and rear lights, which will give the compact car a fresh look in accordance with the latest and larger models with four rings.

Seeing the A3 Sportback with 99% camouflage taken, the design of the sedan is hardly surprising, since all we need to do is present a hatchback with a suitable boot. Inside, the tablet will be a thing of the past, as the infotainment system will be neatly integrated into the center console. How do we know? The S3 Sportback prototype was spotted some time ago with a new dashboard layout.

The oil bits should reflect those of the aforementioned Golf and Octavia, but Audi may have an ace up its sleeve, given that the A3 is located above the two MQB-based products. In the end, the A3 has a significant premium compared to smaller models. Undoubtedly, one of the advantages will be the presence of a five-cylinder engine in RS3, which we noticed some time ago as a test mule, but this will happen later.

Meanwhile, the A3 should debut early next year as a five-door Sportback first, and then soon as a sedan.
