The presentation of the new generation Chevy Equinox will take place in 2024. The novelty will be sold for some time along with the current (third in a row) generation of the mid-size crossover.

Despite the fact that the updated version of the Chevrolet Equinox midsize crossover 2021 model year debuted just a few months ago, we are already talking about the successor to this car. And not only about the update, which will be positioned as a new version of the model in the middle of the current generation cycle, but also about a completely new generation of the crossover. Well, this won’t happen until 2024, but we already have the first details about it to share with you.

Production of the 2025 Equinox will begin in May 2024 at GM’s Ramos Arispe plant in Mexico, according to a new report from the foreign publication GM Authority.

The third generation Equinox (currently on sale) is said to remain on sale even after a completely new generation of the model debuts.

The online publication also claims that the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox will be assembled in three separate factories. In addition to Ramos Arisp, it will also be manufactured at the San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico and the CAMI assembly plant in Ingersoll, Canada. The second Mexican plant will supply the model to its assembly lines from November 2024, while the Canadian plant will begin assembly from February 2025.

It is known that the new generation of mid-size SUV will be built on the GM VSS-F platform, while the 2021 Equinox is based on the GM D2 “bogie”.

Long before that, the Equinox is expected to receive a significant update for the 2022 model year version. According to preliminary information, the crossover may lose a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, as a result of which buyers will be offered only a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine.

Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that the Chevy Colorado ZR2 pickup may soon receive an off-road version of Baja. One of the publications reports that the current generation Chevy Colorado may well receive a more off-road version, which will receive the designation Chevy Colorado. There are few details about the new product.
