What will be the VW Golf generation Mk8 station wagon?April 28, 2020
Virtual images created by an independent designer of the German VW Golf generation Mk8 in the station wagon body show us how a more practical version of a car popular all over the world might look like.
The automaker from Wolfsburg is due to present in the near future the popular Golf model of the eighth generation in the station wagon. According to preliminary data, a more practical and family car should debut in October this year.
Three renderings, which were created by an independent designer Overboost BR and published on his page on the social network Facebook, show us how this universal new product based on the Golf 8 might look like.
I must admit that the resulting car looks exactly as we expected to see it. The “formula” for creating a universal version of a model is quite simple, and this is what we have seen on other Volkswagen models countless times – the body is largely identical to the five-door version of the model, but with an elongated rear to increase cargo space and interior space . The resulting car looks very restrained and at the same time stylish.
The new Golf with a long roof will be produced at Volkswagen’s main factory in Wolfsburg – its predecessor was made at the factory in Zwickau, Germany. In Europe, Golf Variant, that is what the universal novelty will be called, will compete with similar models from Ford, Renault, Peugeot, Kia, Hyundai.
