What kind of cars do the French prefer?April 22, 2019
Analysts told which cars sold well in March in France. It turned out that motorists of this country most often preferred products of the domestic auto industry.
Last month, the French car market “sank” by 2.3%. During March, 225,818 cars were sold here. And most willingly, as analysts found out, the French acquired models of domestic brands, preferring such auto products to their closest neighbors — Germans, Italians, and Spaniards. If we talk about a longer period of time, then there is also a decline in sales, albeit quite insignificant. Thus, according to the results of the first quarter of 2019, French motorists purchased 553,335 cars (a “minus” of 0.6%).
Following the March results, Renault became the most beloved automobile brand of the French, whose cars sold 45,911 copies (decline in demand by 6.6%), writes AUTOSTAT with reference to the French Chamber of Commerce (CCFA).
The remaining two places in the top three were also occupied by French automakers – Peugeot and Citroen (37,262 and 23,677 copies, respectively). Interestingly, Citroen, the only one of the prize-winning three, boasts sales growth (+ 9.7%). Fourth place goes to the “daughter” of the concern Renault – Romanian brand Dacia. On the account of this company there are 15,838 customers (+ 13.8%). The fifth place belongs to the German company Volkswagen – 15,704 cars (+ 8.3%).
