What is known about the updated sedan VW Passat?November 15, 2018
Official representatives of the German car brand Volkswagen have long been saying that the company’s strategy will be focused on the development of electric vehicles and autonomous control systems.
In order to prepare for the production of models of cars with zero emissions, brand management plans to revise the current production plan.
After all, it is necessary to release production capacity. Apparently, this decision will affect those models of the company, which are equipped with traditional internal combustion engines. A couple of hours ago, the Volkswagen press office announced that factories in the German cities of Emden and Hannover were completely retrained for the production of electric vehicles by 2022.
According to the data published by foreign journalists, the assembly of the mid-size Passat sedan is expected to be moved to the Czech Republic. Production company will Skoda. Of course it can upset the fans of the “label” made in Germany. In this case, the production of the new Passat will be set up in the same factory where the Czech Superb sedan is assembled.
Interestingly, while the production of the Passat sedan could eventually be moved to the Czech Republic, the Skoda Karoq crossover assembly could be moved to the German city of Osnabrück. Now the car is assembled at the Skoda plant in Kvasiny and Mlada Boleslav (Czech Republic). Happen this shuffle may all over the next year.
