What is known about the sports coupe Nissan Z 2021?May 25, 2020
In this article we have collected all the data that is currently known about a completely new generation of sports car Nissan Z.
Nissan is working on a new sports car of the Z-family, which will replace the obsolete 370Z, which has been on the market for 11 years – the car was first introduced back in 2009. As part of our article today, we have collected all the facts that are known about the upcoming competitor Toyota Supra.
It is reported that the company’s designers want to pay tribute to the original sports coupe 240Z, having developed a retro design for the new Z-series car. But in general, recognizable proportions of the car should be preserved – a long front and a very short rear.
Recently, there have been many rumors regarding the price tag of the new Nissan Z car. Some reputable publications have even said that the base price of the Japanese novelty will be $ 40,000. The current version of the model has a starting price tag of $ 30,000.
Nissan is going to use the highly updated version of the FR platform for the new Z-series car. Earlier reports suggested that the new sports car would be much like the next-generation premium Infiniti Q60.
Novelty can get a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with 400 hp. from Infiniti, which was already used in the 370Z show car at the 2018 SEMA Show tuning show. At the end of last year, a test prototype 370Z was also seen, which drove along the Nurburgring, with additional holes on the front bumper, which are likely to let fresh air into the intercooler.
Finally, there is data on the designation 400Z. Z-series cars have always been named according to the size of their engine, and this trend is unlikely to change. The 400Z name implies a 4.0-liter Twin-Turbo V6, and that doesn’t seem plausible unless Nissan wants to use that name with a 3.0-liter engine.
Nissan was originally supposed to introduce a new Z-series car by the end of the year. However, with the current situation in the world, as with most new cars, the debut is likely to be delayed.
