What is known about the long-awaited Lamborghini Aventador receiver?September 16, 2019
The new supercar of the Italian brand, which will become the receiver of the Aventador model, can get a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The most advanced technologies will also be used to create a durable but very lightweight chassis.
With the presentation of the Lamborghini Sian hybrid car (pictured), the Italian brand decided to show us the direction of its development for the coming years. The long-awaited successor to the Aventador supercar is likely to be created on the basis of this ideology. According to insiders, the novelty will receive a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
The Sian concept shown earlier uses a supercapacitor-based hybrid installation (instead of conventional batteries), which is ideal for hypercars but not ideal for electric vehicles, as it cannot provide a large power reserve.
“With supercapacitors, you can store up to three times more power than using a conventional battery,” said Lamborghini Technical Director Mauricio Reggini. “However, it is obvious that at present, a car with a hybrid motor on supercapacitors will not be able to guarantee a power reserve of even 5-10 km in fully electric mode.”
Therefore, the successor to the Aventador supercar will use a plug-in hybrid engine that will reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere and provide a good power reserve when using an electric motor alone. The downside of such cars, Mr Reggian, called the fact that batteries and electric motors increase the overall weight, which could only be reduced by a lighter chassis.
It is reported that the successor to the Aventador model may appear no earlier than 2024. Rumors have it that the powerplant may have three electric motors with a total power of 1100 horsepower.
Not long ago, our publication wrote that the Novitec tuning studio had modified the Lamborghini Urus. The SUV has received many changes both in the technical part and in the cabin. Three packages of improvements significantly increase the power of the car.
