What does the ex-Formula 1 champion think about the Ferrari Monza SP1 supercar?January 29, 2020
The German racer Nico Rosberg was invited by Ferrari to drive a Monza SP1 open top supercar and tell about his impressions about this car. The machine is equipped with an 809-horsepower engine.
In October 2018, Ferrari stunned the automotive world with the introduction of the Monza SP1 and Monza SP2 speedsters at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. Both cars are based on the 812 Superfast model. The open-top novelties combine retro design with the latest sports car technology. You can drive them around the city and enjoy the sunshine, and if you want to take them to the race track and bring to the limit the 6.5-liter V12 engine. The latter with pleasure did the rider Nico Rosberg.
During a visit to Ferrari headquarters in Maranello (Italy), the 2016 F1 racing champion was invited to sit behind the wheel of a Monza SP1 and ride the famous Fiorano test track.
As shown in the video above, Mr. Rosberg really enjoyed every second of driving an open top supercar with 809 horsepower under its hood.
“I really enjoyed visiting the Ferrari Museum and learning something new about the history of this great brand: classic Epic Ferrari cars, impressive Ferrari F1 cars and the fastest and most powerful Ferrari hypercars,” Nico says about his trip to Italy. “By the way, I visited the Ferrari production line – such an amazing experience to see the 488 Pista right on the conveyor! After that I went to the Fiorano – Ferrari test track – in order to ride on the extraordinary speedster Ferrari Monza SP1 “.
