What can we expect from the new generation of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer SUV?February 25, 2020
The presentation of the American news is scheduled for this year. It is reported that the new product could become a serious competitor to the premium British SUV Land Rover Range Rover.
The revived Jeep Grand Wagoneer was a hotly anticipated car for many years, but the American company was well-concealed by all possible details about a three-row SUV. Now the head of Jeep North America Jim Morrison has decided to slightly raise the veil of secrecy over the model.
“I think one of the things that Jeep is loved for is that we pay attention to what our customers want. They said they want a pickup? We gave them a Gladiator. They said they want a diesel-powered Wrangler? We gave them that. Now the turn has come to a completely new version of the off-road legend of the last century – the large Grand Wagoneer SUV, “he said in an interview with foreign publications.
“Spy” images show that the Grand Wagoneer will have an impressive body in size, which may resemble the body of the midsize Grand Cherokee SUV.
The novelty is built on the same principles as the full-size Ram 1500 pickup, and is likely to use the same motor range as the pickup. Our insiders are reporting that the revived SUV will be available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
The jeep reportedly intends to position the new Grand Wagoneer as a premium car that will compete with such pretty strong rivals in this segment as the British Land Rover Range Rover.
The official presentation of the new generation of Grand Wagoneer may take place in the middle of this year, possibly at the Detroit Motor Show, which will be held in June. Sales will begin in about a year, which may make 2022 the first year of mass production of cars.
Not so long ago, we wrote that a cheap analog of the Jeep Wrangler received a motor from the Haval F7. Chinese BAIC is going to bring to market a restyled SUV Beijing BJ40 Plus, similar to the legendary “American” Jeep Wrangler.
