Watch the high-speed run of the powerful Dodge Charger Hellcat on the AutobahnAugust 3, 2020
A video has appeared on the YouTube channel AutoTopNL showing the capabilities of the American sports sedan Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. The car rushes along the German Autobahn, a road with no speed limits.
Highly powerful vehicles from Dodge have always been popular with fans of fast driving – being essentially ordinary cars, they offer the same capabilities as more expensive supercars. The Dodge Challenger coupe is better known, although the Charger sedan is much more interesting in terms of its family appeal. In addition, the Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody has a powerful 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that is rated at 707 horsepower. As shown in the video below, it can reach breakneck speeds on the unlimited speed sections of the German Autobahn.
The engine of this sedan has 882 Nm of torque, which is fed to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. That is why when the car is started using the launch control, so much smoke is generated.
On the first run, the car was accelerated to a speed of 258 km / h, the maximum speed in the second run was 239 km / h. The last “run” is the best of all – the car was able to accelerate to a speed of 299 km / h without any problems, although it does not reach the maximum speed, which according to the brand representatives is 313 km / h. It’s worth noting that this is an impressive figure for a stylish family car anyway.
Not so long ago, we wrote about the race between the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and the Chevy Corvette C8. As part of the 402-meter straight-ahead race, the powerful SRT Demon performance Dodge Challenger and the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette sports coupe competed. The results of the race were not so obvious.
