Watch the 301hp MINI JCW GP set speed recordsAugust 17, 2020
A video has been released on YouTube showing the extremely fast race of the “charged” British MINI John Cooper Works GP on the German Sachsenring race track. It is noteworthy that the machine managed to drive this track even faster than real supercars.
We have already seen how the very powerful MINI John Cooper Works (JCW) GP car was driven by all kinds of amateurs who tested the capabilities of the car. Now it’s time to see how the car can perform on the race track in the hands of an experienced driver.
The British automaker’s most powerful road-legal car ever made, it covered the Sachsenring circuit fast enough. The entire run was filmed from the salon.
The super “hot” hatchback MINI was able to complete the lap in 1 minute 38.48 seconds. And this result is even slightly faster than the temporary serifs that were able to show more expensive and efficient supercars, which also set speed records on this German circuit.
For example, the first generation of the German Audi R8 V10 Spyder completed a full circle in 1 minute and 37.74, which is about one second faster than the BMW M6 Gran Coupe Competition.
Powered by a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine, the high-performance JCW GP hatchback boasts 306bhp. (450 Nm of torque), which are transmitted to the front axle through an eight-speed automatic transmission with integrated differential lock. To accelerate to 100 km / h, the machine spends 5.2 seconds, while its maximum speed is 265 km / h.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that the video showed how the blogger turned over the new MINI JCW GP immediately after purchase. Blogger Pog crashed the new MINI John Cooper Works GP without ever hitting the road.
