The German automaker has released a video showing the moment the 2021 Porsche Panamera Turbo S set a speed record. The car became the fastest sedan on the race track in Atlanta (USA).
After the Porsche Panamera Turbo S set an all-time high speed record at the Nürburgring among premium cars, the German brand’s team decided to turn their attention to the North American Michelin Raceway Road in Atlanta. The German brand has won the title of the fastest four-door sedan that has ever driven on this track. The record was 1 minute 31.51 seconds.
It should be noted that the Panamera Turbo S is faster than another four-door sedan from Porsche.
The speed record was previously secured for the Porsche Taycan Turbo S electric car, which completed a full circle of this track in 1 minute 33.88 seconds. In both cases, professional race car driver Lech Keen was driving the cars.
Machine comes with optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 ND0 Super High Performance road tires. The tire set was a newly developed specimen measuring 275/35 ZR 21 103Y XL at the front and 325/30 ZR 21 108Y XL at the rear.
The 2021 Porsche Panamera Turbo S is expected to arrive at the German brand’s dealerships in spring 2021. It will come standard with performance-oriented equipment such as Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, sports roll stabilization.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that the base Porsche Taycan went beyond China. The basic version of the Porsche Taycan, which was launched in China in 2020, will appear at the German company’s American dealers in the spring of 2021.
