VW updated the electric version of e-UpSeptember 11, 2019
VW introduced an updated version of the e-Up, a battery-electric version of its popular city car.
The new e-Up is not that different, but the updates are more than enough to attract attention. VW abandoned the old 18.7 kWh battery and installed a 32.3 kWh more powerful one, which allowed the miniature electric car to travel up to 260 km when fully charged in a WLTP cycle. Usually this kind of update is accompanied by a price increase, but Wolfsburg actually lowered the price of its smallest electric car, which now costs 21,995 euros in Germany.
It is equipped with an e-Up 2020 electric motor with 82 hp. The maximum speed is limited to 130 km / h. The new battery is also compatible with fast charging from a direct current source, which allows users to get up to 80% of the battery charge in just one hour when connected to a 40 kW power outlet. VW also launches a special promotion for the smallest electric car at the pre-sale stage: customers who purchase a car from September 18 to October 31 will receive bonuses from the company.
