VW unveils ID.4 electric car interior with smart lightingSeptember 4, 2020
Volkswagen showcased the interior of its debut electric crossover, the ID.4, which will debut before the end of September.
The main feature of the interior will be “smart” interior lighting with 30 shades to choose from, which functions in conjunction with the systems of the car, giving special light signals. The novelty has acquired a salon made in black and brown tones, large doorways, high-seated seats and a trunk with a capacity of up to 543 liters.
To preserve the feeling of free space, they decided to design the front panel in a minimalist style. On it are the “floating” display-tablet of the infotainment complex and a digital dashboard, which repeats the shape of the screen of the “younger” ID.3. Among the differences from the soplatform cross are curved inserts on the front panel and elongated air duct deflectors.
At the start of sales in Germany, a limited version of the ID.4 1ST Max1 will be offered, which will get special chairs approved by German doctors. They have several options for electrical adjustment and pneumatic lumbar support with massage function.
There is no information about the power unit of the novelty at the moment. According to assumptions, the cross will receive two electric motors with a capacity of about 300 hp. On a single charge, the ID.4 will be able to travel up to 500 km.
In addition, it was recently noted that the German company Volkswagen has come up with a name for an electric SUV. It should be emphasized that the novelty from the German automaker will enter the market no earlier than 2025.
