VW talked about the new Touareg with a V8 diesel TDI of 4.0 litersFebruary 26, 2019
For the VW Touareg crossover, the same 4.0-liter turbo diesel will be available as for the premium Audi SQ7. The car will be shown at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
After the disclosure of the official characteristics of the compact T-Roc crossover in the “charged” version of the R, the brand from Wolfsburg represents the most powerful car that is currently in production. Meet the Touareg mid-sized crossover, which is equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 TDI turbodiesel. The car will be shown at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
This 4.0-liter turbodiesel boasts 416 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque.
These numbers guarantee that the large crossover will be impressively fast – its sprint from 0 to 100 km / h will take only 4.9 seconds, while the maximum speed will be electronically limited to the 250 km / h mark. The V8 TDI engine complies with the latest European standards for the level of harmful emissions into the environment 6d-TEMP.
Although Volkswagen claims that it is “the most powerful crossover with a diesel engine from a German manufacturer,” this is not entirely true. Depending on the market, you can buy an Audi SQ7 TDI (the company belongs to the Volkswagen AG concern) with the same V8 TDI engine, producing 429 hp. It is noteworthy that the very first generation of the model had a 12-cylinder 444 hp engine.
Sales of the crossover with the new engine will begin in May of this year. The price is still unknown.
