VW showed a “charged” T-Roc R crossover on sketches.February 14, 2019
The official presentation of the high-performance version of the German compact crossover will be held at the Geneva Motor Show. The published sketch shows the concept of a “charged” novelty close to production.
Volkswagen released the second episode of its T-Roc R crossover advertising campaign. In the first series, photographs were published with a powerful and heavily camouflaged crossover that drove along the Nurburgring racetrack. It was at the beginning of the month. Now we are offered to take a look at the design sketch of the novelty, which gives us a more accurate idea of what to expect from the upcoming T-Roc R.
A conceptual version of a “charged” crossover will be shown at the Geneva Motor Show (March 2019), which, according to the VW guys, is close to the maximum version of the model.
Being on unrealistically large cast wheels, the T-Roc R crossover boasts a more aggressive body with large front air intakes and, as it seems, more powerful wheel arches hinting at possible gauge expansion. The furious crossover is closer to the road thanks to a stiffer suspension setting, and, although there is no rear view, it should have twin tailpipes for the exhaust system, as on the Golf R.
Like the “charged” hatchback, the crossover will get a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with a power of 300 horsepower (400 Nm). As to whether VW will offer a 6-speed manual gearbox, it’s still unknown, but I’m not too surprised if the guys from Wolfsburg decide to sell the T-Roc R exclusively with the 7-speed DSG “robot”. Regardless of the gearbox, power will be channeled exclusively to all wheels.
