VW published a teaser for the new Nivus crossoverMarch 17, 2020
The press service of the German brand has published a teaser for the new compact crossover Nivus. The official presentation of the new items should take place next year.
Recently, the German company has released a lot of new models, in particular crossovers. It is understandable, in recent years, an increasing number of people begin to give their preference to crossovers and SUVs, rather than the more familiar sedans and station wagons.
For the sake of this, the company introduced a teaser for its new Nivus crossover. Initially, the model was created as a small crossover for South America, but still it will be sold in Europe – the start of sales is scheduled for next year. Serial production of new items will also be established in Europe.
The German automaker once again shows us a teaser image of what he calls the “new city coupe”.
From what we can see in this rather grainy photo, the Nivus has an exterior design, heavily inspired by the T-Cross crossover, but with a sloping roof line in an effort to create a smoother side profile.
In the previous teaser, released a few days ago, the new interior was shown – we were shown a steering wheel with a new company logo. Not that it was a big surprise, but the interior will also be pretty much the same as the T-Cross crossover, complete with a fully digital dashboard and a similar sized touch screen for the infotainment system.
It is known that the North American version of the crossover will be available with a three-cylinder 1.0-liter engine with 114 horsepower, which will work with a six-speed manual gearbox. Optionally, a robotic DSG and all-wheel drive system will be available.
