VW launches new-generation Golf Variant testsMay 19, 2020
Some publications published photos from the VW Golf tests of the Mk8 generation in the back of the Variant. Presentation of new items will take place this fall.
It seems that Volkswagen is putting the finishing touches on the eighth-generation Golf wagon – this version of the model will receive the Variant prefix. A couple of hours ago, we received a fresh batch of “spy” snapshots of a compact novelty. I note that for the first time a prototype station wagon was discovered just a few days ago.
Of course, this is not a shocking sight – the more practical iteration of the new Golf looks exactly as everyone expects, but this does not make the car less interesting. Appearance is obviously pretty much identical to the Golf 8 generation hatchback, and the rest of the design is quite predictable.
However, the German automaker is not ready to reveal the appearance of the rear of the body and decided to cover these areas with special stickers, trying to fool our eyes, forcing us to believe that the design will be copied from the previous generation Golf wagon.
However, upon closer inspection, you will see that the LED lights at the back will be thinner and they become elongated.
Probably, the universal German novelty will be available only in Europe, and it is likely that Volkswagen will also introduce its off-road version of Alltrack. Volkswagen did not say a word about the eighth generation Golf Variant debut. There are rumors circulating on the Web that the new product will be presented this fall, but it is expected that the automaker must first introduce high-performance versions of the GTI TCR and R.
