Volvo’s four-wheel drive refinish for a rear-wheel driveAugust 16, 2018
The company Polestar has prepared a new firmware for the control electronics of all-wheel drive vehicles Volvo, which will give them a more rear-wheel drive control. The novelty will be available only for cars of the 2019 model year, built on the platform CMA and SPA.
The new firmware can not be ordered for the T6 and T8 Twin Engine modifications, since their hybrid powerplants that issue 340 and 407 forces are already tuned with a rear-wheel drive by the rear-mounted electric motor.
Thus, only the crossover XC40, as well as families of the 60- and 90-series with conventional gasoline and diesel engines can be refitted. The electronics will shift more thrust to the rear axle.
One of the latest improvements to Polestar was the “charged” modification of the new generation S60 sedan. In this version, the output of the top hybrid powerplant will increase to 421 horsepower, there will be more powerful Brembo brakes with golden calipers, adjustable Öhlins dampers and a strut of the front suspension studs.
