The Volvo XC40 was expanded to include plug-ins, including the less powerful plug-in hybrid version of the XC40 Recharge T4.
Volvo has already announced the all-electric version of the P8 Recharge and a plug-in T5 hybrid of 262 hp, which it will put on the XC40 price list in a year. Now you can hear about a less powerful and at the same time much cheaper T4 plugin. In this version, a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine with 129 hp. (from T2) works together with an 82 hp electric motor The total power of the system is 211 hp. Just like the PHEV T5, it is capable of driving 45 kilometers (WLTP) exclusively on electric T4.
We mentioned that the cost of the T4 is slightly softer, because dealers will be able to offer it at a price of 43,995 euros, which is 3,500 euros cheaper than the more powerful PHEV. The T4 plug-in hybrid comes in two versions: Expression Expression and R-Design Expression. Standard features include a full security package, LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels and Park Assist rear.
To further increase the difference between the two interchangeable hybrids, Volvo has also revised its T5 plug-in hybrid line-up, reducing its configuration to three. In addition to more power (276 hp and 440 Nm of torque), the XC40 takes on a more “playful character,” for example, with a faster reaction to the gas pedal. According to autoweek.nl, all plug-in hybrid XC40s can tow 1800 kg.
