Volvo V60 gets new enginesMarch 2, 2020
Volvo is electrifying its lineup with the V60. The station wagon receives new soft hybrid versions and should now do without diesel engines.
Volvo recently introduced an update for the XC60 and S60, and this time for the V60, which benefited from a number of changes. Conventional gasoline engines T4 and T5 will be replaced by gasoline engines with moderate hybrid technology B4 and B5, respectively. The B3 is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 163 hp. and 265 Nm, which, thanks to the electric motor, will have an additional 14 hp. and 40 Nm. Acceleration from standstill to 100 km / h takes 9.1 seconds, and the maximum speed, like all new Volvo cars, is 180 km / h. The average fuel consumption is at the level of 6.3-6.4 l / 100 km.
B4, of course, one step above the aforementioned B3. This is the basic version of the well-known 2.0L with 197 hp. and 300 Nm, which also receives support from an electric part with a capacity of 14 hp. and 40 Nm. This option manages to accelerate to 100 km / h in 0 seconds.
Up a notch is the 2.0-liter B5 with four cylinders rated at 250 hp. and 350 Nm, which, thanks to electric assistance, will also have 14 hp. and 40 Nm additionally. This most powerful gasoline version without plug-ins accelerates to a speed of 100 km / h in 6.8 seconds and, like the B3 and B4, consumes an average of 6.3-6.4 l / 100 km. Diesel variations of D3 and D4 are canceled, and plug-in hybrid T6 and T8 will continue to exist. Until recently, the V60 Cross Country was available with versions T5 and D4, but after the upgrade, it is only available with B5.
The initial price of the V60 B3 is set at 41,995 euros and amounts to 47,995 euros for the R-Design version. The price list for the V60 B4 starts at 46,495 euros for the Business Pro version, and for the R-Design version the importer requests 50,495 euros. The cost of B5 Business Pro is at least 49,995 euros, and R-Design varies to 53,995 euros.
The hybrid plug-ins T6 and T8 are now cheaper by € 1,000 and now cost € 51,995 and € 54,995 respectively. Volvo is asking for 66,995 euros for the T8 Polestar Engineered. For the V60 Cross Country B5, available in only one version, Volvo has a price tag of € 55,995. This version of Cross Country Pro comes standard with leather upholstery, electrically adjustable heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
