The Swedish automaker talked about updating the global design team, and Claudia Brown and Thomas Stovicek joined the company’s design operations.

Claudia Brown joined Volvo Cars from Daimler and became the new vice president of color and material design. In this role, she is responsible for the strategic direction in the field of colors and interior materials for both Volvo brands and Polestar.

Claudia Brown has a long experience in the design of premium cars. At Daimler, she was responsible for the design of colors and finishes for the Mercedes, AMG and Maybach brands, and also played a significant role in interior design at Porsche at the beginning of her career.

“Volvo is the most stylish and sustainable brand. This fits perfectly with my vision of Scandinavian sustainable design and a responsible lifestyle, ”said Claudia Brown.

Thomas Stovicek left Facebook 2 years ago and moved to Volvo Cars, and the other day he was appointed to the position of UI project manager and interaction design. In this role, he oversees the development of every digital interaction that customers have with the Volvo brand and company, whether in their car, through the Volvo Cars website or through the app. Stovicek recently started work on an upcoming launch of the Volvo Cars website.

The large XC90 SUV, released in 2014, was the first model to introduce Volvo’s modern design language. He set the tone for all subsequent new 90, 60 and 40 series cars based on the modular SPA and CMA architectures, which provide truly premium design proportions. All three SUVs in the lineup received prestigious Car of the Year awards in North America, Asia and Europe, demonstrating the success of Volvo’s new design language.
