Volvo has published the latest teaser of S60 sedan before the debutJune 19, 2018
The new generation of the Volvo S60 sedan will debut tomorrow as part of a special event at the company’s new plant in the US. This will be the first model of a Swedish company released in America.
“Globalization” is the key word when it comes to the new Volvo S60, as a luxury sedan of middle class of Swedish origin will be produced in the United States by a company owned by a Chinese concern. And we actively followed the teaser campaign of the S60 sedan of the next generation, which will become new literally in everything.
The updated S60 will be officially unveiled at the company’s new plant in Ridgeville, South Carolina, where the car will be assembled for the entire world market. And the company is preparing to prove that the predictable design will not necessarily be boring, will surprise the fans of the brand. We are already fully aware of what the new S60 will look like, especially since the design is based on the older model of the S90, and all details were revealed on teasers.
However, the company expects that this approach will attract attention to the model even more. After all, many motorists want to study the model in detail, to make sure of their own assumptions.
The top version will receive a modern hybrid T8 Twin Engine, with modifications from Polestar. Recently announced specification “Polestar Engineered”, showed more detailed information about the new “heart” of the car. So, due to additional improvements, the standard T8 will be able to develop up to 22 horsepower and 30 Nm of torque more, which is 415 hp and 670 Nm.
The rest of the engine line will be borrowed from the current version of the XC60 crossover. However, for the first time Volvo will completely abandon the diesel engines in the model line. Therefore, customers will have to be content with only gasoline engines. In the following years the Swedes will completely abandon their line of diesel engines, which will allow them to invest more in environmentally friendly transport.
In the meantime, Volvo is beginning to introduce the use of plastic from recycling. So, by 2025 a quarter of all plastic parts will be made from recycled plastic.
