Volkswagen will release 34 new models in 2020December 19, 2019
The German concern next year will introduce new electric cars that will join the ID family.
Volkswagen has unveiled its global expansion plans. In 2020, the brand will release 34 new products worldwide. In summer, the brand will launch ID 3, and after the mid-size SUV ID Next. The ID 4 is also expected to be available in Europe, China and North America.
Six more electric cars and hybrids will go on sale after the usual versions of models appear in the spring. Representatives of the brand clarify that in 2020 will be released 12 SUVs. In addition, it is reported that Volkswagen plans to publish record operating profit this year, despite the fact that its total sales decreased slightly.
Volkswagen also increased its market share, including due to sales of SUVs.
“In the shrinking market as a whole, the Volkswagen brand has gained market share worldwide and significantly improved its operating results. Continuous restructuring of the core business, including the positive impact of the pact on the future and the success of the worldwide offensive on SUVs, has become the key to this achievement, ” – said Volkswagen Chief Operating Officer Ralph Brandstatter.
