Volkswagen will pay 9,000 euros for old carsJanuary 22, 2019
The German auto giant Volkswagen is exploring the possibility of expanding its incentive program to buy new cars from the 15 largest and most polluted cities throughout Germany.
This is a special program, in which Volkswagen pays owners of old cars with environmental standards from Euro-1 to Euro-4, so that they change their cars for Bole new and environmentally cleaner Volkswagen.
In addition, the VW board of directors is also thinking about launching a similar program for owners of diesel cars that meet the environmental standard Euro-4 or Euro-5. The adoption of a common decision is expected this week, and the amount of compensation can reach 9,000 euros.
Earlier, German automakers, including Volkswagen, agreed to allocate additional costs in the amount of approximately 3,000 euros per vehicle for updating the engine control unit software on models already sold in order to increase the efficiency of exhaust filtration systems.
