The decision of the German brand will affect all cars that are currently in production. The company will notify all customers who have left orders for a hot-hatch, that the return of the power plant will be reduced.
How exactly will be reduced power, in the Volkswagen was not clarified. Probably, the changes will be introduced into the exhaust system of the machines. First of all, this is done to reduce the level of harmful emissions in order to fall under the requirements of the WLTP cycle.
The hatchback Golf R is equipped with a two-liter turbo engine, which previously produced 310 hp. With it, the machine accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. Also for the model is available the Performance package, which allows you to shift the maximum speed limiter from 250 to 267 kilometers per hour. In addition, it involves the installation of titanium production Akrapovic and more powerful brakes, reconfiguring the suspension.
