Volkswagen warns: revision of cars to Euro-6 is dangerous

In Europe, a new service in the secondary market is becoming increasingly popular. Local masters propose to remake cars Euro-5 under the new standard Euro-6.

With the introduction of a new environmental standard for Euro 6 cars in some European cities began to restrict the movement of diesel cars. For models with Euro 5 standard and below, access to the city center is denied. As a result, a new segment in the secondary market has been activated – the re-equipment of cars for Euro-6.

The Volkswagen group, itself involved in an environmental scandal, warned everyone that it was not effective, and could, on the contrary, lead to dire consequences. The fact is that the cars of the previous generation are not provided for under the new equipment. Of course, applying the share of ingenuity, it can be installed, but it will not give any effect.

Diesel cars manufactured from 2011 to 2015 had to meet the Euro 5 emission standard. What would it be so they were equipped with particulate filters, catalytic converters, exhaust gas recirculation system, as well as updated software. To switch to Euro-6, even more improvements are needed that cannot be done in garage conditions without prior thorough research.

Modified systems currently on the market are risky, says VW. They lead to an increase in fuel consumption by 6%, which on the contrary reduces environmental friendliness.

It is worth noting that Volkswagen does not provide any concrete evidence. However, the VAG group “advises not to upgrade equipment.”

Meanwhile, more than 300,000 Europeans want to sue Volkswagen for diesel gate. Companies again face huge fines and penalties.
