Volkswagen T-Roc named the best-selling SUV in EuropeMarch 28, 2019
Such an honorary title subcompact crossover from Volkswagen was awarded in February. The interest of Europeans to this model allowed her to overtake the recognized favorites of the SUV segment.
Last month, the German Volkswagen T-Roc crossover managed to break into the top 10 best-selling cars in Europe. At the same time this subcompact cross can boast the most impressive growth in demand. Such positive dynamics helped the model for the first time to become a bestseller in the SUV segment. To reach this height, the Volkswagen T-Roc had to leave behind its main rivals – the Volkswagen Tiguan and the Nissan Qashqai.
According to JATO Dynamics, the new VW T-Roc has earned the right to be called the best-selling SUV in three European countries at once – in Austria, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. But in Germany, Italy, Croatia and Denmark, this model stopped a step from the first place.
As for the most popular model among Europeans, here, despite a 14 percent decline in sales, Volkswagen Golf reigns supreme. In February, 31,769 people purchased this car. Then follows the Renault Clio (26,062 cars; + 5%), and closes the “top three” of the best Volkswagen Polo, whose sales reached 22,610 copies (+ 17%). The remaining places in the TOP-10 are divided among themselves Citroen C3, Peugeot 208, Ford Focus and Fiesta models, two Volkswagen models – T-Roc and Tiguan, and also Opel / Vauxhall Corsa.
