Volkswagen showed just three new products at a taxi show in CologneNovember 8, 2018
One of the presented models was the nine-seater Crafter Kombi, which debuted as a taxi for the first time.
At the European Taxi Fair in Cologne, Germany, Volkswagen showed three new models: the spacious Crafter Kombi and the electric minivans e-Caddy Maxi and e-Caravelle, whose engineers also worked on the creation of AVT e-Line GmbH.
Crafter Kombi, developed by the Volkswagen commercial vehicle division, was the first ever taxi driver. In the salon, nine people can travel in comfort at once.
The choice of customers will offer a different “dimensional grid” wheelbase. Under the hood of the car, shown at a specialized exhibition, hid a two-liter TDI 4Motioon engine with a power of 140 horsepower.
Volkswagen e-Caddy Maxi is built on the basis of an elongated version of a classic minivan and can carry up to five passengers along with their luggage. Power reserve per charge reaches 220 kilometers. Another “green” model – e-Caravelle, in turn, is designed for eight passengers, and the car also gets an increased cruising range – from 208 to 400 km, depending on the battery.
