Volkswagen showed a new representative of the electric line I.D. under the name I.D. Buzz Cargo. The car became a cargo version of a minibus, presented in early 2017 at the Detroit Motor Show.
The length of the van was 5048 mm, width – 1976 mm, height 1963 mm, and the wheelbase size is equal to 3300 millimeters. The car can take on board up to 800 kg of cargo.
Volkswagen I.D. Buzz Cargo equipped with a 150-kilowatt (200 hp) electric engine on the rear axle, which allows an electric car to accelerate to 160 km per hour. The car can be completed with blocks of accumulators for 48 or 111 kilowatt-hours. In the latter case, the prototype is able to travel without recharging up to 550 kilometers. Using a special system, the battery reserve can be replenished by 80% in just 15 minutes.
The serial production of new generation Volkswagen electric cars will start in 2020. The first representative of the family I.D. will be a compact hatchback, followed by a crossover, minivan and probably a flagship sedan. By 2025 the Germans are planning to launch more than 20 cars with electric power units in the series.
