The management of the German concern is seriously concerned that moisture ingress on the LED modules of the panoramic roof lighting can cause a short circuit of the wiring. That is fraught with very unpleasant consequences.

German brand Volkswagen has launched a large-scale service campaign, which will affect about 700 thousand cars. In different parts of the world, dealers of the brand are waiting for the Tiguan crossovers and the Touran compact car, which are on the “problem” list. Both models combine the presence of a panoramic roof, in which the trick is hidden. This is reported by the local newspaper Kfz-Betrieb.

Only in Germany there are about 52 thousand cars that need repair.

The reason for the reviews was an annoying lighting defect, which, incidentally, can provoke a fire. So, the LED modules installed in the above cars, can pass moisture, which, in turn, can easily lead to a short circuit in the illumination of the roof of the car.

It is known that at the moment the recall campaign, announced by Volkswagen, did not affect Russian motorists in any way. According to experts, if the wave of reviews still come and go, our country, the Russians get off with a little blood. For example, the family minivan Touran left the Russian market a few years ago.
