Volkswagen presents the Passat GTJanuary 13, 2018
The new German manufacturer combines a powerful engine VR6, understated suspension and more aggressive design.
The Volkswagen Passat GT joins the Passat family as a 2018 model year and will be released in a limited edition, based on the R-Line configuration. The color scheme of the body includes four shades: Pure White, Reflex Silver, Platinum Gray and Deep Black.
The new version of the Passat GT differs from the standard Passat LED head optics and LED DRLs in basic equipment. The sedan is equipped with a bumper R-Line and is complemented by a honeycomb grid, a badge GT and a red line reminiscent of a high-performance Golf GTI, and a sports suspension.
The car also has a black roof, black side mirrors, black windows and doors. The finishing touch was the two-tone 19-inch Tornado wheels combined with red brake calipers, another reminder of Volkswagen’s sporting heritage.
In the back of the Passat GT there is a black spoiler and black LED taillights. A black bumper finish and a double exhaust with an acoustic bag are made.
In the interior of the GT version there is a black glossy finish of the center console and vent baffles, carbon finish, black ceiling upholstery and aluminum thresholds with GT badges. Seats are upholstered in black artificial leather with an insert with inserts Moonrock Gray and contrast stitching. The basic equipment includes a leather steering wheel, a driver’s seat with adjustments in eight directions, heated front seats, Climatronic two-zone automatic climate control and heated exterior mirrors.
The Volkswagen Passat GT is equipped with an infotainment system Composition Media with a touch screen diagonal of 6.3 inches, Bluetooth, Voice Control, technology Volkswagen Car-Net App-Connect and support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink. At the disposal of passengers are two USB ports – one on the center console and one on the console of the rear row of seats.
Under the hood of the Passat GT, the VR6 has a 3.6 liter engine with 280 hp output. and 350 Nm of torque in combination with a six-band DSG gearbox and the ability to switch paddle lobes.
The start of Volkswagen Passat GT sales in the United States is scheduled for the second quarter of this year at a price of $ 29,090.
