Volkswagen presented the serial version of the new crossover VW Taos BasecampJune 3, 2021
Taos Basecamp’s concept travel and leisure crossover debuted just two weeks ago. Then it became known that he served as the basis for an optional styling package. And so it happened.
Just two weeks ago, Volkswagen unveiled the Taos Basecamp concept and is now presenting it as a production model. We are not talking about a full-fledged auto novelty, but about a special set of additional accessories. On sale such a styling package will appear at the end of June.
The production version of Basecamp remains unchanged from the Taos Basecamp prototype. These are aggressive front and rear fenders with integrated mudguards, lower side door panels and a Basecamp badge on the front grille.
Moreover, brand customers will be able to purchase components from the Basecamp package separately, with the exception of the grill icon, which is available only with the purchase of the entire set. It was priced at $ 999
The serial version differs from the concept car by other tires: the show car showed us massive off-road tires. And the orange accent lines on the dash and above the side skirts have not made it to the conveyor.
The concept was equipped with a dedicated Thule Canyon XT roof basket with integrated LED lighting. They are not on the official photos of the serial version.
In addition to the Basecamp package, you can purchase rubber carpet mats, additional rear bumper protection, frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror and more.
