Volkswagen presented an updated Golf VIINovember 10, 2016
The company introduced the new Volkswagen Golf seventh generation. Public premiere of the car will take place at the motor show in Los Angeles next week. In Europe, sales of restyled models will begin in April 2017. Prices for the car will be named later.
Restyled Golf can be distinguished by the radiator grille with chrome cover plates and large air intake. After the renovation hatchback is optionaly completed full LED optics.
In the salon of restyled models set new seats, fully digital instrument panel and 9.2-inch touchscreen display. To the driver available a new infotainment system with features gesture control and support of Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink. Updated Golf became the first car in its class equipped with similar technology. For the first time gesture recognition system was demonstrated on the concept Volkswagen Golf R Touch, which was shown at SEMA event in January 2015.
Using gestures the driver can control the audio volume, adjust cabin temperature and control navigation. Besides the novelty equipped with an emergency braking assistant system, Traffic Jam system, a function of holding the lane, the system of aid in parking and pedestrian detection system.
The basic version Golf is equipped with 1.5-liter petrol engine TSI. Engine output is 150 horsepower. Also, customers will be offered more economic version of this unit with 130 horsepower efficiency.
Also, the range of engines entered the 2.0-liter petrol unit TSI. Engine power was increased to 230 horsepower. Later will be available modification Performance, where the motor output will be 245 horsepower. Engines of restyled Golf are paired with a seven-speed robotized gearbox or six-speed INC.
The premiere of the eighth generation Volkswagen Golf will take place in 2018. Model will receive Code MK8 and will be built on a modular platform MQB, which the company intends to use at least 2025. The new Golf should be at 35-70 kg lighter predecessor.
