Volkswagen Kübelwagen and Golf 1 will receive electric versionsAugust 4, 2020

Volkswagen is not only actively developing new electric cars, but also converting current models to electric energy. On Tuesday, August 4, there was information regarding the obtaining of patents for the trade names e-Käfer, e-Golf Classic, e-Samba and e-Kübel. Recall that the prefix “e” in the case of Volkswagen indicates the presence of a fully electric power plant.
The conversion of cars to electricity is handled by a specially created division of Volkswagen eClassics. If the e-Käfer model has already been shown, and the e-Samba is most likely a T1 model, then the official information about the e-Golf Classic and even more so the e-Kübelwagen has become a novelty. Most likely, work on new cars is already underway. At the moment, the electrified versions of the Beetle, T1, T2 and T3 models use two engine options – with a return of 83 and 101 hp. respectively.
Together with them, batteries with a capacity of 35 kWh or 45 kWh produced by Volkswagen work.
Most likely, such variants of electric motors will appear on the Golf 1 and Kübelwagen.
Meanwhile, Volkswagen has unveiled its largest crossover. At the moment, the car is not officially presented and has only a factory index instead of a name. In terms of dimensions, the cross will surpass the flagship Volkswagen Atlas.
