Volkswagen is preparing to debut a miniature crossoverFebruary 25, 2020
The debut of the novelty, whose length is less than 4 meters, will be held at the end of this year.
Volkswagen is working on a new compact crossover. According to the publication “Quatro Rodas”, at the moment the car does not have a model name, it is assigned a factory index VW246. The car will be based on the MQB A0 IN platform from VW Taigun, so it will most likely be presented only on budget world markets. By the way, Volkswagen Taigun was developed specifically for India.
The length of the new crossover should not exceed 4 meters, and the wheelbase will be in the region of 2,550 mm, based on the platform used. As a motor on a non-alternative basis, they will offer a 1.0-liter turbo engine with a return of 115 hp.
Such an engine can run on gasoline and ethanol. Paired with the power plant will offer 6MKPP or branded robot DSG7, depending on the configuration.
Of the technical equipment, we will most likely see cruise control, ABS and stabilization systems, a multimedia complex with a large screen and emergency braking function. The debut of the new items should take place at the Sao Paulo Motor Show in November this year, and the car will go on sale no earlier than 2022.
