Volkswagen introduced three home charging stations for its electric carsSeptember 12, 2019
After the loud and successful debut of the electric ID.3 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the company immediately announced three versions of home charging. Each of them will charge the car five times faster than a standard outlet.
In the framework of the Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen introduced its first serial electric car ID.3. The model will soon enter the market, and the concern is ready to offer a full range of gadgets and services for the car. The press service introduced a series of three home charging stations with a price tag of 399 euros
All three versions have power up to 11 kW * hours. This allows you to charge an electric car by 58 kW in six hours. All the differences are in the digital capabilities provided. So, the basic version is offered only with the charging station unit itself and two cables.
The more expensive version (599 euros) has a similar kit, but is able to connect to wi-fi and transmit information to the application about the degree of charge of the car and other information. An optional LTE module is provided.
The most expensive version of the ID. Charger Pro is equipped with a built-in electricity meter, as well as prepaid LTE for the entire life of the charging station. The price tag is 849 euros.
