Volkswagen introduced the new Golf VariantNovember 3, 2020
The German automaker has revealed more detailed technical information about the Volkswagen Golf wagon. It will initially go on sale with three engine options, with more to come later. The Golf Alltrack will not be available in all markets.
Initially, the Golf wagon (known in some markets as the Golf Variant) will be available with three engine options: the 2.0 TDI with 115 and 150 hp. and petrol 1.0 eTSI 110 hp. The ETSI and 150 PS TDI are linked to a 7-speed DSG gearbox, and the 115 PS diesel engine. – with a mechanical transmission.
Volkswagen will later add three petrol engine options to the lineup: 1.0 TSI with 90 PS. and 1.5 TSI with 130 and 150 hp. The range of mild hybrids will be supplemented with version 1.5 eTSI with 130 or 150 hp. Next year’s Golf wagon will also feature 1.5 TGI natural gas.
Like the Golf hatchback, the station wagon is also available in Life, Style and R-Line trim levels. The main achievement of the station wagon in comparison with the hatchback is that it is 35 cm longer and the wheelbase is increased by 6.7 cm.This gives rear passengers 4 cm more legroom and allows you to carry 611 liters of cargo in the trunk.
The Golf Alltrack comes exclusively with 4Motion all-wheel drive and is powered by the same diesel engine as the Golf GTD: a 2.0 TDI with 200 hp. and 400 Nm of torque. The Alltrack has the same level of equipment as the R-Line as standard, and is therefore good at the start. Inside, it is equipped with special seat covers and moldings.
