Volkswagen introduced the Grand CaliforniaAugust 7, 2018
The company Volkswagen introduced a two-stage house on wheels called Grand California, which is built on the basis of the model Crafter. The novel made its debut at an exhibition of campers in Dusseldorf, where the conceptual version of this car debuted a year earlier.
The overall length of the car reaches six meters, and the wheelbase is 3.6 meters. The height of the cabin is 2.2 meters. Behind the front seats, which are deployed almost 180 degrees, there is a dining area with a table. Behind it is a bathroom with an area of one square meter: there is a toilet, a shower and a folding sink.
The light is switched on and off automatically thanks to the motion sensors. The temperature in the shower is regulated, and the volume of the water tank is 110 liters.
Next is a plate with two burners and a sink. There are also different compartments for things and cabinets, as well as a 70-liter refrigerator. In the rear of the cabin is a large bed. As an option will be available “second floor”, where you can place a couple more beds. In this case, the height of the machine will reach almost three meters.
As an option, additional heating systems, bicycle holders, awnings and other camping equipment are offered.
Volkswagen also has a “small” California camper built on the basis of Multivan. It has a raised roof two beds and everything necessary for cooking.
