Volkswagen introduced a new budget crossover based on PoloNovember 2, 2019
In China, the premiere of the Volkswagen Tacqua – the converted version of the compact crossover T-Cross. The novelty is built on the same MQB A0 platform as the current Volkswagen Polo and is technically identical to the Chinese T-Cross.
The appearance of the “double” Chinese consumers owe to two joint ventures of Volkswagen: the T-Cross crossover is already produced SAIC-Volkswagen, and Tacqua will go off the assembly line FAW-Volkswagen. Thanks to a different body kit, the overall length of the Tacqua is slightly shorter than that of the Chinese T-Cross: 4,194 mm versus 4,218 mm. The European crossover is even more compact: only 4 107 millimeters from bumper to bumper.
Volkswagen Tacqua will be available with two engines to choose from – a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with 113 horsepower and a 1.4-liter turbocharged unit with a return of 150 horsepower. A more powerful engine is combined with a 7-speed DSG “robot”, and a naturally aspirated “four” paired with a 6-speed “mechanics”. Drive – to the front wheels.
The Tacqua interior differs from the T-Cross in terms of strokes: the crossover of the top version of the R-Line is equipped with a modern multifunction steering wheel, a 10.2-inch virtual dashboard screen and an 8-inch multimedia system touchscreen, however, climate control is still activated by physical washers.
Volkswagen Tacqua will enter the Chinese market before the end of the year. The price list has not yet been announced, but the novelty will cost comparable to the T-Cross model, which is priced at least 128 thousand yuan.
