Volkswagen increases production of E-Golf twiceDecember 31, 2017
The increase in output is due to the growing demand for electric vehicles in Europe.
The German automotive manufacturer Volkswagen demonstrates by its actions that we are experiencing the establishment of the era of electric passenger transport. The Germans intend to increase the work of the conveyor of the electric model of the hatchback E-Golf at the Transparent Factory plant in Dresden from one to two shifts. Thus, the output will grow from 35 to 70 electric vehicles per day. This is reported by the publication InsideEVs, citing its own sources.
The published information confirms that already from the beginning of next year Volkswagen will produce 2,100 copies of E-Golf electric hatchbacks a month. At the same time last month the release of this model was 1050 units. The volume of the electric vehicle assembly will grow gradually until March 2018.
The current version of the electric Volkswagen E-Golf is equipped with an electric motor with a capacity of 134 horsepower and 290 Nm. A battery with a capacity of 35.8 kWh is also installed. With it, the EPA standards range is 134-200 kilometers. A year ago, the market sold the E-Golf with an electric motor for 115 hp. and 270 Nm, as well as a smaller battery – by 24.2 kWh.
