Volkswagen ID 4 SUV gets a GTX badgeFebruary 1, 2020
The first electric VW SUV will also be the first electric model, followed by the ID 5 GTX.
The first use of the GTX – the electric equivalent of the GTI sub-brand – will probably be seen in the lineup of first-class options for Volkswagen’s first electric SUV, which was announced by 2017 ID Crozz concept.
We should expect the SUV ID, which will be the base model and coupe, which is expected to be called ID 4 and ID 5. Although both models will receive the GTX badge, they will most likely appear on ID 4 first.
While the ID 3 hatchback is an obvious competitor to GTX processing, Volkswagen believes that the fast ID 4 is more attractive to key markets such as the US and China, and is able to achieve higher returns in the short term. However, the version ID 3 for execution is planned to be released later.
ID 4 is based on MEB, an architecture developed by Volkswagen Group for electric vehicles. In a conceptual version, he used two electric motors with a total power of 302 hp. and 332 lb-ft of torque and promised a driving distance of 311 miles thanks to a 83 kW battery.
